Introduction
uBlock Origin is a popular content blocker browser extension used by many PC users. But did you know that you can also use it on your Android device? Follow this guide to block ads, cookie notices, and more in your mobile web browser.
Installing uBlock Origin
First, you will need to install Firefox, one of the few browsers on Android that supports browser extensions. You can install it from the Google Play Store or with a tool like FFUpdater.
Once you have Firefox installed, open the browsers's menu.
Here tap on "Extensions".
On this page Firefox shows a list of recommended extensions. Find uBlock Origin and than tap the "+" icon next to it.
Firefox will list what permissions the extension will have. Tap "Add".
After that the browser will prompt you if you would like uBlock Origin to run in private mode as well. This is entirely up to you if you want this. After you made your decision, tap on "Ok".
uBlock Origin is now installed, and ready to use, but optionally you can enable additional filters in uBlock Origin's settings.
Block cookie notices, annoying popups, chat widgets and more
In the extensions menu, now you can find uBlock Origin at the top of the list above recommended extensions. To access it's settings, tap on it.
Tap on "Settings".
